RTO Forms List India

The government has generated an RTO forms list that helps the applicants check the information and inputs they need to give to the RTO. The RTO Application Forms list is divided into two categories:

  • RTO forms for driving license
  • Vehicle registration form

One must be aware of these forms to avoid any delay in getting a license or registration of the vehicle. The following are the forms that are needed for the different driving license processes in RTO:

Driving License Form 1

It’s a physical fitness declaration form. This form must be filled out to clarify if the applicant is not suffering from any disability or disease that can obstruct their driving skills.

Driving License Form 1A

It’s a medical certificate that has to be issued by a doctor or medical practitioner. This form consists of the results of a thorough examination conducted by any state-appointed and state-certified doctor.

Driving License Form 2

Before getting the Driving License, the applicant must have a Learner’s License for 30 days. It’s the form to apply for a Learner’s License. The applicant has to specify the vehicle they want the license for. Other information is to be filled in, including disclosure of ownership of any previous licenses, disqualifications, and personal details such as name, email ID, mobile number, address, etc.

Driving License Form 4

It’s the main application form, the applicant’s actual ticket to earn a valid license. They must use it to apply for any license – two-wheeler without gear, two-wheeler with gear, car, transport vehicle, auto-rickshaw, etc.

Driving License Form 8

If the applicant wants to add another type of vehicle to their existing license, then this is the form to opt for. For example, let’s say the applicant might have a license to drive a two-wheeler without gear, but they now need a license for a four-wheeler

Driving License Form 9

The applicant’s license comes with an expiry date. It is either 20 years or until they turn 50 years of age. It is advisable to renew their car one year before expiry. The applicant has up to one year after expiry to restore it.

Vehicle Registration Form List

Form 20: It is the first form that comes under the category of vehicle registration. This form is known as ‘Application for registration of a motor vehicle. The applicant may fill out this form if they want to register a motor vehicle. Details of the motor vehicle, such as type of body, the kind of vehicle, number of cylinders on the motor vehicle, seating capacity, fuel used in the engine, etc., have to be filled in the form. If the vehicle is not motor-operated, there is a separate section in the form. The motor vehicle inspection and official endorsement certificates are also in Form 20.

Form 26: Form 26 RTO is known as ‘Application for the duplicate certificate of registration. This form is to be duly filled by the applicant in the circumstance if they lose the original certificate of registration of the vehicle.

Form 27: Form 27, also known as the ‘Application for assignment of new registration mark to a motor vehicle, is to be filled by the applicant if they need to register the vehicle again. For example, this may happen if the applicant moves from one state to another. Some of the documents to be enclosed with Form 27 RTO are a ‘no objection certificate’ from the registration authority, a certificate of registration, and a certificate of fitness of the automobile.

Form 28: Form 28 is called ‘Application and grant of no objection certificate.’ As the name says, RTO Form 28 provides a no-objection certificate to the applicant to obtain a license.

Form 29: Form 29 is a ‘Notice of transfer of ownership of a motor vehicle. If the motor vehicle owner wants to give the ownership to another person, they have to fill out Form 29 and provide the notice in their native RTO.

Form 30: When a person is transferring ownership of their vehicle to another person along with Form 29, Form 30 is also required to be submitted to the RTO. In Form 30, also known as ‘Report of transfer of ownership of a vehicle, in addition to the transferor, the main details of the transferee also have to be filled in.

Form 31: This form is to be submitted by the applicant if the owner of the motor vehicle is deceased and the applicant wants to take over the ownership of the vehicle. The details of the deceased owner are to be filled in the form. You can also get the RTO form online and use it for the purpose as required. All you need to do is download the form and fill it up with the required details.
